Here's a tip from a reader, MARTIN L. BLAIS rcracer@oc-net.com, about problems with fuses blowing.

A TECHNICIAN HAS THE MOST FUN, WHEN THE CUSTOMER HAS THE OLD FUSE BLOWING MOTORCYCLE THAT ONLY BLOWS ON HIM ONCE A WEEK. AND THEN AFTER PLAYING WITH IT FOR TWO HOURS, WIGGLING WIRES, STRETCHING AND WIGGLING CABLES, PUSHING ON THE DASH GAUGES, TURNING HANDLEBARS, AND NOTHING ON THE 10 MILE TEST RIDE HELPS, WHAT DO YOU DO? ATTACH A 12 VOLT BUZZER, SUCH AS RADIO SHACK NO. 272-055, WITH ONE TERMINAL ON EACH SIDE OF THE FUSE. THEN, IF THE FUSE BLOWS, THE BUZZER WILL SOUND. THAT WILL ENABLE YOU TO KNOW EXACTLY WHEN AND UNDER WHAT CONDITIONS (SUCH AS A TURN OR RAILROAD CROSSING) THE SHORT OCCURS. HOPEFULLY, THIS SHOULD HELP YOU TRACK DOWN THE PROBLEM.
