I have been looking for books that are written by someone with an interest in protecting the consumers of automobile repair services. I found one. It not only helps the consumer to understand how to ensure that they won't get ripped off by an automobile repair shop, but it is loaded with lots of other snippets of excellent money saving ideas. Included in the book are chapters on auto insurance, how to get the best deal on car parts prices, how to improve your gas mileage and even a chapter on how to beat speeding tickets!! This is definitely not a book on doing your own repairs. If you are the type who will never own a toolbox and who doesn't want to ever get your hands dirty this is the book for you. It will help you to understand how to get your car fixed in the most effective way without being taken for unnecessary repairs. There is a chapter on common shams and scams in muffler shops, brake shops, air conditioning and tire and alignment shops. These chapters alone are worth the price of the book. If you are out shopping for a new car there is a chapter in there for you with tips on negotiating the best price and how to get those extras for the lowest price. There is a chapter on the lemon law and how you can use it to your advantage to protect you from the worst kind of new car - the lemon. Learn which category of consumer is most likely to get taken at a repair shop and how to dress when you are going to the shop to get your car fixed. I have read this book from cover to cover and found it to be all it is cracked up to be. Check out the website where you can read more about this book and order it from there.
