Here's a reply from a reader about a Quad Four engine. It doesn't have a typical ignition wire system but have a cover over the top of the engine that often fails with arcing internally. You need to replace the whole cover if there are signs of arcing internally. This tip may help some of you.

The last problem I asked you to help with was a low-speed misfire in the engine. It turned out to be the ignition coil housing cover. It acts like a distributer and it was arcing. This was a problem with many Quad Four 2.3 engines. It was dealt with under recall for awhile. I thought I'd let you know in case somebody describes the misfire symptom in their Q4 engine.
